Men’s Basketball

The Men’s basketball team finished the season with an 11-14, failing to qualify for the conference tournament. They won three of their final four games, one coming against their rival Concordia University. In the Stars 70-67 victory, junior Luke McDermott scored 17 points and was 4-7 from three-point range. Juniors Jackson Smith and Tyler Guest both scored in double figures.

Season highlights

● Newcomer Tyler Guest impressed in his first season with the Stars. One of the Stars leading scorers, Guest’s top performance came in a 127-114 win over Greenville College when he scored 27 points in 27 minutes, his season high.

● Jackson Smith scored 41 points, a career high, in the Stars 70-61 win over Marian University on Jan. 7th.

● The Stars are now 3-0 all-time vs. Knox College.

Women’s Basketball

The Women’s basketball team saw their season come to an end in the second round of the conference tournament, falling to Benedictine University 63-60. They finished the year with a 19-8 record, one that included a seven-game win streak in the heart of their conference schedule spanning from Dec. 21st to Jan. 22nd.

Season highlights

● Senior Timiya Ray was a leader for the Stars all season long. She finished her career with 962 points, averaging 12.7 a game. She scored 20 or more points in six games this season.

● Junior Alisha Markley and sophomore Hannah Currant earned NACC weekly honors

● Stars have won seven straight vs. conference foe Illinois Tech dating back to 2014.

Men’s Volleyball

The Men’s Volleyball team is off to a historic 11-0 start to their 2020 campaign. Currently ranked seventh in the Division III Top 15 poll, the Stars have knocked off three ranked opponents in Carthage College, Benedictine University, and Milwaukee School of Engineering. Their next match is at home Tuesday night vs. Aurora University.

· Three Stars, Mat Molloy, Patrick Bradford, and Geroge Kougan, rank in to the top three in blocks per set in the conference.

· Jack McGuire ranks first in conference in assists per set with 9.94

· Bregin DeMarco ranks second in conference in digs per set with 2.94

Women’s Bowling

The Women’s bowling team has finished its inaugural season on a high note. The Stars took sixth-place at the Flyer Classic hosted by Lewis University on February 21, 22 and 23. Their win on the final day of the tournament over Augustana led to the Stars finishing as the highest place Division III program at the Flyer Classic.
