This past Saturday, the Dominican men’s soccer team faced off against MSOE in the NACC tournament final.

The previous matchup between both teams was hosted by Dominican on Sept. 30, which saw the Stars fall 2-0.

This game was an anticipated rematch between both teams as the competition was held at Viets Field in Milwaukee.

The final whistle saw Dominican crowned as NACC tournament champions for the 22nd time. The Stars captured the title with a final score of 1-0.

With the NACC phase of the season completed, the Stars are now looking to close the season with the NCAA tournament play.

The Stars finished the regular season in third place behind Aurora University and Milwaukee School of Engineering who both tied for first place.

Dominican entered the NACC tournament as the third seed and defeated Illinois Tech in a lopsided 6-1 victory.

On Oct. 31, the Stars traveled to face off against Aurora University in a NACC semifinal tournament clash.

After going up 2-0, it looked like the Stars were heading off to another tournament final. However, with less than five minutes remaining in regulation, Aurora managed to score twice, which tied the game 2-2.

The two teams were squared after overtime and the game was to be determined in a penalty shootout.

With Dominican up 5-4 in the shootout, Aurora tried to tie the score, but ultimately missed as Dominican won the game and a spot in the tournament final.
