Student Life hosted the Involvement Fair in the social hall this year making it one of the events back in person after the pandemic cut on campus activities last year.

The Involvement Fair is a yearly event hosted by Student Life that gives students the opportunity to see what clubs and organizations Dominican has to offer.

This year it was hosted in the Social Hall. Tables were set up in a “U” shape allowing students to walk around easily.

Upon check-in, students were given a free lip balm. At other tables, other free goodies were given out such as stickers, pins, pens, candies and more.

For first-year commuter student Monserrat Romero, the event is her way of “getting involved on campus,” since she commutes from Albany Park and isn’t always on campus.

Some clubs that made an appearance this year included:

  • – Bob Ross’ Happy Accidents: an improv team
  • – Campus Activities Board
  • – National Association of Colored Womens Club
  • – Undocumented & Immigrant Allyance
  • – Model United Nations Club
  • – P.R.I.S.M: The on-campus LGBTQ and allies club, formerly known as Common Ground
  • – Organization of Latin American Students,
  • CRU and more.

Stephanie Rojas, a first-year student appreciated the involvement fair because she “gets to explore and meet new people.” She said this was one way she could “feel more involved with the [Dominican] community and college life.”
