Dominican University is now home to a new dance team, the Melanin Fuse
“Dance like no one is watching” is what Mark Twain once said and that quote describes the Melanin Fuse Dance team perfectly. Many of you, may or may not have heard of the Melanin Fuse Dance team that was recently started this past November by Armani Brcokman and Darrylisha Kimbrough. These two young ladies worked hard to start this dance team with the mission of bringing together students to celebrate dance and the beauty within every race and to showcase the beauty within African American culture. While working with different personalities might seem hard for most, this group of young ladies manage to get the job done and to look good while doing so. Member Kiasee Rays says that she would tell any future members that if they stick together and help each other out, no matter what, they will always come out on top.
Melanin Fuse is commonly known for performing at the women’s basketball games. However, they can also be spotted groovin’ and having a great time at different events organized by Black Student Union.
If interested, next round of try-outs will be held later this semester. For updates, please be sure to add them on Facebook at Melanin Fuse.
