Fourteen states will hold nominating contests on Tuesday as the biggest day of the democratic nomination race to date. So who’s left and how much is at stake?
The candidates
- Joe Biden
- Bernie Sanders
- Elizabeth Warren
- Mike Bloomberg
- Tulsi Gabbard
What’s at stake
- 1,357 delegates will be awarded (1,991 to secure the nomination)
What to watch for
- With Biden’s big win in South Carolina over the weekend, he has seen a big boost in contributions to his campaign. Is he able to keep control of the East coast states in North Carolina and Virginia?
- Bloomberg has poured over $500 million into television, radio, and digital media ads. Will it pay off?
- Despite others dropping out due to low poll numbers, Elizabeth Warren is still in the race. Outside of her home state of Massachusetts, will she be able to pick up any delegates?
- Sanders is expected to have a very dominate day. But how dominate will it be? Can Biden keep up with him after picking up support from Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar?
The Dominican Star staff will be keeping you updated as the results begin to pour in starting at 7 p.m Eastern time with Vermont’s polls as the first state to close. California’s polls will be the last to close at 11 p.m ET.
