This year’s Caritas et Veritas Symposium, “Clash or Conversation?: Engaging Multiple Perspectives as a Way Towards Truth”, will be focusing on truth from the many perspectives of the members of our community.
The Caritas et Veritas Symposium, scheduled on Tuesday, Sept. 26, has been a well respected tradition at Dominican University. For eight years, it has brought our community closer together through faith and understanding. Students and faculty members look forward to the lectures and seminars presented at this annual event.
This year’s symposium will be extremely special as it focusses on finding truth through diverse mindsets. Special guests include Cristal Ortega, the 2017 alumna who biked 4,500 miles to raise money for young cancer patients, and Eboo Patel, the founder and president of Interfaith Youth Corps, who is receiving the Bradford O’Neil Award for Social Justice. The Dominican University Board of Trustees is holding a session called “Disputatio in the Board Room”. Morning presentations will be hosted mainly by students and faculty, while afternoon sessions will feature more guest speakers.
There is something for everyone at Caritas et Veritas, so make sure you’re registered to attend. Claire Noonan, Vice President of Mission and Ministry states, “I look forward to the energy of the day and everyone being together to celebrate the diverse Dominican University community.”
