Dominican University is now home to a new organization for military vets, family members, and supportive community members.

Dominican University Veterans Association is a new student organization founded by Marine Corps Vet, Jonathan Sass. Their goal is to recognize  those who have or are serving  honorably and the support system that surrounds them. They provide military members and their families with resources to help supplement and succeed here at Dominican University.

Members of the organization include many members from our military branches, such as the Marines and the Army Rangers. Jonathan Sass, United States Marine Corps Veteran and president of DUVA, is excited to reach out to students and other community members. “It’s the first Dominican Organization dedicated to our vets and service members.” Sass states.

The name of D.U.V.A. is inspired by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, which is an agency dedicated that provides healthcare and other services to former U.S. Military service members and their families. D.U.V.A. hopes to provide the Dominican University’s Veteran community and those who support them with information about healthcare benefits, educational benefits and involvement opportunities.
