Letter From the Editors

Betsy and Bianca are the co-editors of the Dominican Star Newspaper

Hello readers,

We’re excited to bring you our second to last edition of the newspaper.

We want to call your attention to a letter we received on the risks of using AI and its effects on the environment.

Some stories we would like to highlight would be the update on FIZZ and TPUSA, Pope Leo XIV receiving letters from undocumented Dominican students, and our exciting pages on Dominicans sports.

We also want to acknowledge the pushback that we have received from the administration on all levels from our last edition, specifically regarding the TPUSA story. To their misfortune, the Dominican Star will continue to provide true, objective, reporting on ALL matters that concern the DU community.

Moving on, the podcast episode is also out, where your host, Betsy Carreño, will be talking about doom scrolling (and how much she hates it).

We encourage you all to send us letters expressing your thoughts on current events, issues at Dominican, or any other opinions you might have. We want to hear what you have to say!

As always, please let us know if you would like to submit letters, story tips, or pictures of events on campus. Keep an eye out on our social media for new stories and updates.

Xoxo,

B & B

  1. The Dominican Star is not objective considering there are hardly any articles from a conservative perspective. Post left-leaning articles all you want, but don’t claim you’re unbiased when your choice of articles say otherwise.
