Had an on-campus job? An internship where the business is now closed due to the Illinois shelter in place order? Amid the first wave of COVID-19 job layoffs, essential businesses are both booming and hiring during the pandemic.
Several grocery stores and delivery businesses are looking to hire hundreds of people amid the spike in business as a result of the COVID-19 demand for groceries and personal items. Grocery chains such as Mariano’s, Jewel-Osco, and Walmart are among the most popular providing a wide variety of positions and shifts.
MARIANOS
Marianos is hiring at all locations for all departments and shifts. You can fill out an application online or stop in a store from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for an interview.
Jewel-Osco
As of March 17, Jewel-Osco has more than 3,000 immediate job openings. Apply at this link.
Amazon
On March 16, Amazon announced 100,000 jobs are available and announced a $2 per-hour pay increase for its U.S. workers. The Illinois job openings are located here.
Dominio’s
