Dominican alumni Chris Rice returned to campus to share insights with students about preparing for a future career.
Rice, who majored in graphic design, relocated to Seattle for a design internship with the Seattle Seahawks, where he works on various projects including advertising, gameday graphics, and social media designs.
When he was at Dominican, Rice reflected on how a Major League Baseball internship helped him prepare for his career.
He credited the experience for providing clarity about his career aspirations and emphasized the value of bringing that knowledge back to campus to enhance his education.
“It’s important for students to get hands-on experience, so they can bring that back to Dominican and grow from it,” Rice said.
Rice also praised the university’s supportive environment.
“You can bring anyone any question or idea,” he said. “It feels like an open environment, where everyone feels included.”
With Rice set to complete his Seahawks internship soon, he shared his future goals.
“I’m focused on disrupting the industry any way I can,” he explained. “[I am also] making an impact and gaining experience.”
