Data from the COVID-29 Tracking Board reveals five additional cases and slight variation of course format distributions in the first week of Fall 2020 semester.
The cumulative positive cases for the week from August 28 to September 3 is nine, an increase of five from last week (August 21 to August 27). The campus testing of 266 people concludes a total negative result of 98% and total positive result of 2% in the general student body.
Among the students who tested positive, the average contact per COVID-19 case is 2.3 people.
As for quarantine and isolation measures, a total of 88% of the quarantine room and 100% of the isolation rooms are still available.
Instructional modality, or the course formats, have also varied slightly this week. In undergraduate course divisions, the percentage of online courses moved up from 55.4% to 58.4%; hybrid courses decreased from 17.3% to 17.0%; in-person courses similarly declined from 24.9% of last week to 24.5% of this week.
While undergraduate courses follow a decrease of in-person courses and increase of online, graduate course follows a different trend.
For undergraduates, the online instructions decreased from 66.8% to 65.0%; hybrid courses dropped from 3.4% to 3.3%; graduate face-to-face courses see an increase of 6.4% from 25.4% to 31.8% of this week.
The Caritas Commitment compliance also records an increase. From an average of 303.7 per day of #CampusClear reportings received last week, the back to school week saw an average of 866.9 reports received.
Lastly, the number of reported violations of Caritas Commitment totals five, which comes down to three students and two employees.
