Time Fur Change

With winter quickly approaching, November temperatures are quickly dropping. This is the perfect opportunity to start playing with layers to add a unique touch to any outfit. This season, faux fur is trending and is a great way to add a little extra warmth to any outfit in the midst of our Chicago weather. Most of the time fur accessories make a statement and thus, should be the focal point of the outfit.

Looking at this outfit, the base is very simple and sticks with one specific color; black. By keeping the original outfit simple and monochromatic, it prevents the overall look from having too much going on and places the emphasis on the accessory instead. Black is always a safe color to use when experimenting with new elements because it is very versatile and works with almost anything. However, it is also important to incorporate different details into black pieces to add texture and prevent the look from appearing too dull. Looking closely at these pieces, we have ripped jeans paired with a leather jacket and shoes. These different accents and textures add dimension to the outfit.

While this outfit is a great simple fall outfit, it also is the perfect canvas to experiment with. For those of you who feel more comfortable wearing basic and classic styles, you can wear this outfit as is or pair it with a knit scarf loosely wrapped around your neck. For those of you who want to experiment more with fashion and are looking to make more of statement, a fur stole is the perfect touch. To style the fur stole, just throw it over your shoulders and leave it unwrapped. It is important to make sure, though, that the stole isn’t too long or too short.

The great thing about versatile outfits like this one is that you can wear it down with a simple scarf to class and then quickly exchange the scarf for a fur stole before heading out to dinner with friends.
