The Organization of Latin American Students or OLA, was established to give hispanic students a platform to celebrate their culture and share them with the rest of the Dominican community. We strive to be the voice of our Latino students on issues that matter most to them.
This semester, OLA has made it a priority to host relevant and impactful events for our fellow students. Our organization is planning a fundraising event for the relief of Mexico and Puerto Rico after the disastrous events that took place.
We are also joining forces with the Dominican Immigrant Student Collective to raise awareness and show support for undocumented students through a screening of Don’t Tell Anyone/No Le Digas a Nadie – a story of an undocumented activist.
Join us on Thursday, Oct. 5 for our first General Meeting. We are looking for dedicated individuals to help make an impact, we will be discussing events for this semester. Look for our event on Engage DU for more details!
