Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to show yourself some affection. What better way to treat yourself than by purchasing some of the hottest new accessories? Obtaining these trends will leave you and your wardrobe satisfied for months. It’s the Valentine’s Day gift that doesn’t stop giving.

This spring will bring structured and boxy bags, low-heeled shoes, transparent accessories, strappy gladiator inspired sandals and heavy metal jewelry. These trends have been seen on runways of many designers and are featured by fashion hotspots, Vogue and Harpers Bazaar.

This season’s bags will be incredibly structured. Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Prada and other hot designers displayed this trend on their runways for spring 2013. When shopping for bags this spring look for those that have a boxy shape and are firm in their build.

Winter will be the end of platform heels as designers have turned to just-above-flat height heels for spring. Almost every runway show incorporated this trend. Among them were Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, Chloe, Lanvin and Miu Miu.

Transparent accessories will be seen this spring. Bags, bracelets, shoes and much more will offer this unique look. Gucci, Ninna Ricci and Stella McCartney are among the many designers who featured this trend in their collections.

Another shoe trend for the spring is gladiator sandals. These sandals will be dramatic and innovative with straps that are thick and go up to the knees. This edgy trend will bring a punk influence to spring as demonstrated by the runways of Alexander Wang, Tom Ford, Versace and Altuzarra.

Jewelry this season will also be punk inspired. Thick and rich metals will appear on all kinds of jewelry and will also accent bags and shoes. Designs will be minimal yet statement worthy. Fendi, Balenciaga, Rodarte and Givenchy all included accessories with bold metal in their runway shows.

Indulge this Valentine’s Day. Give yourself the gift of great style by adopting these spring accessory trends.
