Spring is officially upon us and, with it; a new set of trends has sprung on the runways and the streets.

Although, many of these new trends can be assembled with clothes that most fashionistas already have in their closets, these styles are simple to work into your current wardrobe.

According to Glamour magazine, this spring, the streets will be filled with black and white styles, bermuda shorts, peekabo cut-outs, stripes, leather, and beading. Spring accessories include low heels and decorative sunglasses.

Harper’s Bazaar reports similar trends, such as structured styles, electric colors, exotic prints, and boudoir styles for street wear.

These trends are beautiful and effortless to accomplish. Many may already have these styles, but if you don’t, be sure to incorporate a few into your daily style while they’re still in season.

Katie Riegel, sophomore, Fashion Club president, and Fashion Merchandising and Corporate Communications double major, shares some of her style secrets.

Q: What is your favorite spring 2013 accessory?

A: Stripes, because they go well with the nautical look and everyone already has it. I especially love striped skirts.

Q: What is your favorite spring 2013 accessory?

A: My favorite trend for spring 2013 is the statement sunglasses. I love sunglasses, especially Betsey Johnson ones.

Q: What stores do you shop at for spring 2013 trends?

A: I am all about getting clothes for a bargain. You don’t need to spend a lot to look fashionable, so I shop at Marshalls, Kohls, H&M, and also thrift stores.

Q: Who is your favorite apparel designer?

A: Rachel Zoe, I love her clothes because they’re classic with a ’70s flair. She wears a lot of maxi dresses and oversized sunglasses. Her clothes really fit a women’s figure and looks good for all seasons.

Q: Which celebrities or fashion icons inspire your style?

A: I really like the Demi Lovato’s style because sometimes she dresses very rocker and edgy but sometimes she dresses feminine and girly, but she always has classic style. She changes up her style everyday and so do I.

Q: Describe your sense of style.

A: Classic. I’m somewhat conservative; I don’t like going crazy with trends, but I like adding an accessory that makes the outfit pop, like a statement necklace or and oversized watch. I also love wearing black.

Q:What factors do you consider when purchasing clothes?

A: Price is very important, along with quality. You don’t always have to pay a lot to get nice quality clothing.

Q: What is your go-to spring outfit?

A My choice is definitely a floral dress. You can wear it with boots or flats sandals, and accessorize with sunglasses, a purse, a watch, and you’re good to go.
