Lakeland College Muskies swim past Stars in NACC matchup
The Dominican men’s basketball team can’t seem to catch a break in the NACC where the Lakeland College Muskies improved their record to 11-3 while the Stars drop to 1-12. Senior Logan Harris had a double-double with 15 points off 5-11 shooting while also nabbing 10 rebounds. The Stars had the lead at the end of the first half with a score of 43-32 but they eventually let the Muskies off the hook, letting Lakeland finish the game on a 24-6 run. The Muskies Justin Ward was the game-high scorer with 22 points. The Stars look for their second NACC win against Concordia University of Chicago on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at home.
The Edgewood College Eagles fly by the Stars in close game
It was close but no cigar for the Dominican women’s basketball team as they were left still searching for their first win of the season. The Stars couldn’t keep the Eagles grounded despite a career game from sophomore Allie Tapanes, who had 24 points. The game had multiple lead changes with the Stars giving the Eagles all they had but ultimately couldn’t score in the last two minutes of the game. The Stars lapse in the second half could be attributed to a lack of discipline on the defensive end, where the Eagles managed to get to the free-throw line 30 times.
