Stars get first win, but continue to struggle

 Lose to Concordia Once Again
Despite senior forwards, Laura Knieps’ 21 points and senior guard Stacy Reynolds’ 15 points, the Stars fell short against the Concordia Cougars once again on Feb. 5, with a final score of 81-70. The Stars seemed hopeful as they outscored Concordia with a total of 17 second-chance points to the Cougars’ 11. The Stars bench also produced a total of 36 points to Concordia’s 10, but struggled in the paint with only 26 points to Concordia’s 42.

Men’s Basketball on 5 game losing streak: still set to make conference tournament
On Feb 9, the Dominican University Men’s basketball team dropped their season record to 9-15, against the Webster University Gorloks.

Concordia Cougars. With a final score of 69-76, the Stars faced challenges on the court when their 15 turnovers allotted the Gorloks 28 points off of turnovers. Junior guard Taylor DeRoo scored a team-high 29 points while sophomore guard Anthony Keener added 10.

The Men’s Basketball team is set to make the Northern Conference tournament, and is fighting for a first round home game.
