A current Dominican University MBA student has been accused of attacking and killing his estranged wife in Wisconsin, Wednesday night.

Cristian Loga-Negru, 38 of Arlington Heights, tracked down his wife, 36, at a friend’s house in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, approximately 25 miles south of Milwaukee, where the woman had gone to seek protection, police said.

After waiting for the woman outside the friend’s house at around 8:20 p.m., Loga-Negru allegedly attacked the woman with a hatchet, striking her head, face and body. Loga-Negru then put the woman in his car and quickly drove away.

Police received a call within minutes about a woman bleeding from the head at a nearby motel. Police found Loga-Negru outside the motel and arrested him.

The woman was taken by helicopter to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee where she was pronounced dead around 10 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Loga-Negru has been an MBA student at Dominican since 2012. He has since been suspended from the school pending the outcome of a conduct hearing.
