Residence Life staff members are recruiting students for a unique new position on their team. Diversity Advocates will be responsible for planning on-campus diversity and social justice programs next school year.
Residence Hall Director Portia Anderson said this position is a “valuable leadership position that provides students with the opportunity to increase their awareness surrounding critical issues students face.”
Anderson said the position provides excellent work experience and skill building that will help students in their life after Dominican.
Diversity Advocates will enjoy a reduced room cost while they work and live on campus. Applicants must be full-time sophomore (or higher) students in good academic standing, must have at least a 2.5 GPA, must be available for weekly Thursday meetings and are not allowed to hold more than one executive board or leadership position with a club or organization unless approved by Residence Life.
Applications are due April 14 and acceptance letters will go out April 24. Training begins four months later on August 24.
