Reusable Halloween Costumes

I personally love Halloween. I love eating candy apples, watching Halloween movies, apple picking, and carving pumpkins. One thing I don’t particularly like about Halloween, though, is having to pay for a new costume every year. Costumes can get expensive and it doesn’t make sense to spend so much if you only wear it once, right? For the past few years, I have still bought my Halloween costume, but not at specialty stores. Instead, I go shopping at my favorite stores to find pieces that I can use for my costume, but also wear again and again when it isn’t Halloween. Here are two super simple costumes with pieces that are the perfect trick with an extra treat.

For all you ladies out there, Sandy from Grease is the perfect mix of classy and sassy. To start, use a pair of black leggings; these can be leather or even athletic leggings. Next, you’ll want to grab either a black off the shoulder top or black tube top to pair with your leggings. You also have the option to add a leather jacket to complete the look, but the jacket is not necessary if you don’t have one in your wardrobe. To accessorize, add a belt around your waist, a pair of gold hoop earrings, and a pair of simple red pumps. Lastly, all you’ll need Sandy’s signature curls and red lip.

For all the gentlemen, a costume with essential wardrobe pieces is the lumberjack. For this costume, all you need is five simple elements. First, you of course need your plaid shirt of choice. Then, you’ll want to add a pair of blue jeans. To really get the true lumberjack look, try and find a pair that looks more distressed. To accessorize, you’ll need a pair of suspenders, boots, a black cap, and, of course, a beard.

Both of these looks are super easy to replicate and include pieces that you can incorporate into your everyday wardrobe after Halloween is over.
