Obama’s Chief Strategist Set to Visit Dominican

The Wednesday Journal, a community newspaper from Oak Park River Forest is working in collaboration with Dominican University by bringing in public figures to speak on campus,

David Axelrod, a long time Oak Park resident, has an incredible job history in politics and is best known for his position as Chief Strategist for Barack Obama during his presidency. He is the first of multiple speakers that Dominican University will be hosting for the Wednesday Journal events.

Axelrod will be at Dominican University at 7 p.m. on Sept. 6th. He will be interviewed by Charlie Meyerson, a long time Oak Park River Forest resident and friend of Axelrod.

Meyerson also has a prestigious
job history. He has been on WXRT, WGN, WBEZ, and is now the founder of Chicagopublicsquare.com.

The interview will be held in the Lund auditorium and students can receive their free ticket by going to the performing arts website and entering the promotion code “student17”. Tickets are available to the public as well for $25 and can be purchased at oakpark.com/axelrod.

A portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to CURE, Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy, a nonprofit organization founded by Axelrod’s wife, Susan. Tickets are limited and will sell out, so make sure you get yours fast!
