At approximately 1:50 pm on April 19, 2018, River Forest units were dispatched to a disturbance in the area of North Ave and William. Upon arrival to the area, officers learned that two male teens were involved in an argument and fight with tow-three subjects, possibly in their late teens. At least one group flashed gang signs, and used a metal pipe and baseball bat object during the altercation. One male teen suffered an injury that required medical attention. The offenders were last seen eastbound North Ave at Harlem. Both area security camera footage and automated traffic enforcement camera footage of the offender’s white Ford Mustang, blue hood strip and lower door pin striping, has been collected as evidence. This appears to be an isolated gang related disturbance with no additional threats or safety concerns to the immediate area. At this time, the victims and their parent are not wanting to pursue criminal charges. River Forest Detectives will continue to work the case in an attempt to identify the offenders.

River Forest Police responded to a home in the 900 block of Lathrop on April 17, 2018 around 11:15 AM after receiving a call from an alarm company for an activated burglar alarm at the address.  Upon arrival, officers found forced entry to a rear/side door.  The offender(s) were gone prior to the officers’ arrival and were likely scared off by the audible alarm.
