Theft

A theft was reported in the 600 block of North Harlem Avenue sometime between 7 p.m. on Sept. 20 and 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 21, according to Oak Park police. Police report that the offender entered the unlocked room of a residence and stole a Galaxy cell phone from a closet. The loss was estimated at $700.

A woman was seen removing curling irons, body wash and other items from the CVS Pharmacy in the 600 block of West Roosevelt Road between 8:50 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. on Sept. 22, according to Oak Park police. The loss was reported as $259.84. 

Burglary to motor vehicle

A blue Chevy Impala was burglarized in the 1100 block of Wenonah Avenue sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 20 and 7:45 a.m. on Sept. 21, according to Oak Park police. The offender stole a Garmin GPS unit and U.S. currency. The loss was estimated at $170.

A 2014 Tesla was burglarized in the 200 block of Lake Street on Sept. 20, between 4 p.m. and 4:40 p.m., according to Oak Park police. The offender entered the vehicle through an open sun roof and stole a pair of suede boots, ice skates, a T-shirt and gym shorts. The loss was estimated at $155.

Residential burglary

An Oak Park residence was burglarized in the 6600 block of North Avenue on Sept. 21, sometime between noon and 1:40 p.m., according to Oak Park police. The offender(s) forced open the second-floor rear door and removed a glass window pane to gain entry to the residence. The offender(s) then stole a 40-inch Samsung television, a 32-inch Sharp television and an Apple iPhone 5C. The loss was estimated at $2,100.

Theft of motor vehicle

A 2014 Dodge Avenger was stolen from the 500 block of South Austin Boulevard on Sept. 20, between the hours of 6:50 p.m. and 6:54 p.m., according to Oak Park police. The unlocked vehicle had the keys inside. The offender drove off eastbound on Fillmore. The loss was estimated at $20,000.

A gray 2002 Mazda Miata was stolen from the 100 block of Forest Avenue, sometime between 2 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 22, according to Oak Park police. The offender used a key found in the center console to steal the vehicle. The loss was estimated at $5,150.
