Theft Report At 12:12 p.m. on Jan. 8, an officer responded to the 800 block of Franklin in regards to the theft of a FedEx package from a front porch. The victim said the package contained clothing, worth more than $300. No witnesses have been identified as of yet.

Warrant Arrest At 12:22 a.m. on Jan. 11, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 7900 block of Lake Street. A computer check revealed the driver, 26-year-old Alex A. Ceballos of 1645 N. 23rd Ave. was wanted on a warrant from the Broadview Police Department due to a suspended license arrest in 2013. Ceballos was taken into custody, processed and posted bond on the matter.        

Obstructing Identification/Resisting/Warrant Arrest At 1:03 a.m. on Jan. 12, officers responded to the area of Harlem and Lake Street in reference to a hit and run accident, which occurred in Oak Park. The offending vehicle was located at Chicago Avenue and Bonnie Brae. The passenger attempted to flee and was taken into custody after resisting arrest. After providing false information to the officers, the passenger was taken into custody and was later identified via fingerprints as 27-year-old Rudy Funes of 112 S. Sunny Lane in Bensenville. Funes was found to have an active Dupage County warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol. Funes was charged with obstructing identification, resisting arrest and the DuPage warrant. The driver of the vehicle was turned over to the Oak Park Police Department for further investigation.     

Burglary to Motor Vehicle Report At 10:23 a.m. on Jan. 13, officers responded to the River Forest Town Center for a report of Mac Pro Laptop, valued at $2,300, being taken from a Toyota van. The laptop had been left on the front seat and the widow had been broken to gain entry to the vehicle. No witness or security footage of the incident was located.     

Possession Fictitious Identification Arrest At 7:41 p.m. on Jan. 13, officers responded to the Jewel-Osco on 7525 W. Lake St, to confront two subjects causing a disturbance at the customer service desk. The two subjects were questioned and officers learned they had presented altered Illinois Identification Cards while attempted to exchange gift cards for currency. Sebastrian S. Sawala, 28-years-old of 535 Cedar Lane in Elk Grove Village and William B. Bucaro, 29-years-old of 271 Fleetwood Lane in Elk Grove Village, were charged with felony possession of fictitious identification.

Possession of Cannabis Arrest At 1:57 a.m. on Jan.18, an officer conducted a traffic stop at Harlem and Central Avenue. The officer smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and further investigation revealed that the passenger, 20-year-old Terry Dudley of 425 S. Wabash Ave. possessed seven grams of marijuana. Dudley was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor possession of cannabis.
