Harassment by Telephone Report

At 12:41 p.m. on Dec. 27, a police officer responded to the 400 block of William Street in River Forest in response to a report of harassing phone calls received by a resident. The victim reported receiving several calls from an unwanted caller who used profanity and kept calling even after the resident asked them to stop. The calls were traced back to Florida and the victim has reported no further incidents.

Disorderly Conduct Report  

At 10:24 a.m. on Dec. 29, an officer responded to the 900 block of Park Avenue in River Forest in response to eggs and other food items being thrown onto the victim’s 2012 Mazda parked in the driveway of their home. The victim was unable to provide any potential leads on who may have committed the act.

Retail Theft Arrest

At 3:55 p.m. on Dec. 31, police responded to Jewel, 7525 W. Lake St., for a retail theft in progress. The offender had taken 3 bottles of vodka valued at over $116. Officers located the subject and stolen bottles in the parking lot. The offender, Joseph R. Chamberlain, 25, 425 S. Ahrens, Lombard, was taken into custody.

Retail Theft Report

At 6:46 p.m. on Jan. 2 officers responded to Verizon Wireless, 7261 W. Lake St, for the theft of a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 tablet. The complainant recounted that the offender had run from the store without paying for the product. The subject was described as a male in his 30’s, tall, medium build, and wearing a navy colored hat and coat. The loss was valued at over $800. The detective unit is investigating the incident.
