Pope Francis has called 2016 the Year of Mercy. How appropriate is it that our Dominican students are getting to grow into their adulthood with such a call, a call to mercy! That this, a call to slow down, believe, have hope, love, listen, reach out, forgive and to help others.
Matthew 25 sums this up saying, “Come, Blessed of my Father for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me…” We reply, “Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or naked or sick…and help you?” And God will answer, “as long as you did it to the least of my brethren you did it to me.” Yes, mercy!
