Criminal Damage to Property/Attempt Burglary Report

At 11:52 a.m., on Jan. 31, officers responded to the 1400 block of William in regard to damage done to a garage window. Further investigation determined that an unknown individual had attempted to gain access into the locked garage and broke the window, glass and framing during the attempt. No access was gained and the repair costs for the damage have not been determined.    

DUI Arrest

At 8:25 p.m., on Jan. 31, an officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on the 7800 block North Ave. without its headlights turned on and crossing the double yellow lines. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver exhibited indicators of intoxication. The driver Roman Carrillo-Gomez, 40, of Chicago, failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. At the station, Carrillo-Gomez refused to submit to a breathalyzer. The subject was charged with Driving Under Intoxication as well as several other traffic violations.         

DUI Arrest

At 5:43 a.m., on Feb. 4, officers were dispatched to the area of Augusta and Harlem regarding a reckless driver. The vehicle was located and it was determined that the car had hit a curb, a No Parking sign and was stopped on the front lawn of a residence on the 7900 block of Chicago Ave. An ambulance was called to evaluate the driver’s condition. A straw with a white, powdery substance was found on the driver. The subject Bruce E. Thomas, 51,of Chicago, was transported to the hospital for the completion of a DUI kit. Subsequently, Thomas was charged with DUI-drugs as well as several traffic violations. Additional charges may be lodged after results from the DUI kit are reported.              

Criminal Trespass to Property Arrest

At 2:00 p.m., on Feb. 5, officers were dispatched to Starbucks, 7201 W. Lake, for a Criminal Trespass to Property. Officers located the subject John C. Lilly Jr., 37, of Glendale Heights, at the scene and took him into custody. Lilly had been previously banned from Town Center property by security. Lilly was transported to the station and charged with Criminal Trespass to Property.  

DUI Arrest

At 3:02 a.m., on Feb. 7, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high speed on the 7900 block of North Ave. The radar verified that the car was going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver exhibited signs of intoxication. The driver Sylvester Truitt, 42, of Chicago, failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. At the station, a breathalyzer test revealed that Truitt’s BAC was .106, which is over the legal limit of .08. Truitt was charged with DUI, DUI over .08 and several other traffic violations.          

DUI Arrest

At 5:45 a.m., on Feb. 8, an officer observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations in the area of Lake St. and Park Ave. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver exhibited signs of intoxication. A computer check revealed that the driver Kassondra L. Johnson, of Chicago, did not have a valid driver’s license or insurance. Johnson failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. At the station, a breathalyzer test revealed that Johnson had a BAC of .181, which is twice over the legal standard of .08. Johnson was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, No Valid Driver’s License, No Insurance and several other traffic violations.

Possession of Cannabis/DWLS Arrest

At 6:55 p.m., on February 8, an officer observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations on the 7300 block of Lake St. A traffic stop was conducted and a strong odor of cannabis emitted from the vehicle. A computer check revealed that the driver Chukwuma O. Eneogwe, 21, of Oak Park, had a suspended driver’s license. Eneogwe was taken into custody. Further investigation revealed that a non-operable 9mm semi-automatic pistol, drug paraphernalia and two plastic baggies containing approximately 41 grams of cannabis were in his possession. A large sum of USC was also located on Eneogwe’s person. Eneogwe was charged with Possession of Cannabis (30-500 grams, Class 4 Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, DWLS and several traffic violations.
